Centre allows railway officers to be hired via engineering exams

The Indian government has restored its earlier recruitment policy for railway officers, approving recruitment through both Civil Services Exam (CSE) and Engineering Services Exam (ESE). This reverses the 2019 decision of recruiting only through CSE. The Ministry of Railways plans to fill 225 vacancies through ESE 2025, addressing the need for technical expertise in various railway disciplines.
