Centre deploys CISF at Bhakra Dam after Punjab deployed police amid water dispute

Union Ministry of Home Affairs approved the deployment of a central force for the security of the Bhakra Dam project amid ongoing dispute between Punjab and Haryana over water allocation from Nangal dam. Centre has created a total of 296 posts for CISF personnel deployment in the area. The decision comes after Punjab Police increased its presence near the dam.
