Centre extends ₹50L insurance scheme for health workers fighting COVID-19 for 1 yr

The Centre on Tuesday extended the insurance scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package for health workers for a period of one year. The insurance scheme was implemented from March 30, 2020, to provide an insurance cover of ₹50 lakh to the health workers fighting COVID-19 and had lapsed on March 24, 2021.
