Centre introduces 'one officer, one official car' policy for bureaucrats: Reports

The central government has introduced a strict 'one officer, one official car' policy for eligible officers, multiple reports said. Under this, bureaucrats are entitled to only one government vehicle, even if they hold additional charges across multiple ministries/departments, as per an office memorandum by the Department of Expenditure. The move aims to optimise vehicle usage and reduce spending.
