Centre issues advisory to states as new COVID-19 variant JN.1 found in Kerala

The Centre has issued an advisory to states in view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in some states and the detection of the first case of the new JN.1 variant. The new variant of COVID-19 was detected in a sample taken from a 79-year-old woman with mild symptoms from Kerala. India reported 260 COVID-19 cases on Monday.
