Centre issues draft notification for ESZ Around Kali Tiger Reserve

The Centre has issued a draft notification declaring an Eco-Sensitive Zone around Karnataka's Kali Tiger Reserve in Uttara Kannada. The proposed ESZ will cover 663 sq km, extending up to 10 km from the forest boundary. A 60-day window has been provided for public objections before final approval and preparation of a master plan.
