Centre issues warning to VPN providers over leaking personal data

MeitY has issued a warning to VPN service providers and online intermediaries against allowing access to websites that leak personal information of Indian citizens without their consent. This comes after MeitY flagged sites like proxyearth.org and leakdata.org for exposing sensitive information and posing threat to user safety and privacy. Failure to comply would lead to direct action, said MeitY.
