Centre orders captive power plants to max output from Oct 1

The Centre has directed captive coal-based power plants with 50 MW+ capacity to generate maximum electricity from October 1 to December 31, 2026. Invoking Section 11 of the Electricity Act, the Power Ministry covers 100+ plants, requiring surplus power to be sold via exchanges to meet rising demand and prevent supply shortages.
