Centre proposes simpler rules for importing drug samples

The Union Health Ministry has proposed amending the Drugs Rules, 1945 to simplify imports of small quantities of drugs for testing and research through an acknowledgement-based Form 11 system. The move reduces compliance, promotes R&D and ease of doing business, while retaining licensing for select high-risk drugs.
