Centre to introduce Public Examinations Amendment Bill on July 27: Report

Centre will introduce Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, in Parliament on July 27, reports said. The Union Cabinet approved the amendments amid nationwide protests over the NEET paper leak. It proposes stricter punishment, including up to 10 years' imprisonment, fine of up to ₹10 crore, fast-track courts, and greater institutional accountability, reports added.
