Chad President dies 'in clashes with rebels' a day after winning elections

Chad's President Idriss Deby has died allegedly in clashes with rebels in the north of the country, the army said on Tuesday, the day after Deby was declared the winner of a presidential election. Deby's son, Mahamat Kaka, was named interim president. The 68-year-old came to power in a rebellion in 1990 and was one of Africa's longest-ruling leaders.
