Chances of asteroid YR4 hitting Earth in 2032 increase to 1 in 43

The chances of asteroid 2024 YR4 impacting Earth, seven years from now, have shot up, with the odds now increasing to 1 in 43. Earlier, the odds of the space rock impacting Earth in 2032 were 1 in 83. The asteroid was discovered in December last year. Its closest approach to Earth is predicted for December 22, 2032.
