Chandigarh board doubles widow, disability pensions to ₹2,000

The Chandigarh Labour Welfare Board doubled monthly pensions for widows and persons with disabilities from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. It also enhanced maternity assistance to ₹21,000, introduced a ₹25,000 Digital Education Scheme for laptops, expanded the Kanyadaan Scheme, and extended scholarships to self-study employees. Decisions were taken at the board's ninth meeting chaired by labour secretary Anuradha S Chagati.
