Chandigarh Electricity Dept employees end strike, power being restored after 2-days

The employees of the Chandigarh Electricity Department called off their strike against privatisation on Wednesday after which power restoration began after nearly two days. The strike had started on Monday night and eventually thousands of homes were left without electricity and water. On Tuesday, the Essential Services Maintenance Act was invoked, banning strikes for six months.
