Chandigarh fine 39L traffic violators, collects ₹139 cr in 6 yrs

Chandigarh Traffic Police had issued 39,26,545 challans to violators and collected over ₹139.18 crore in fine in the past six years between 2021 and July 2026, according to official data accessed by The Tribune. The disposal of more than 22.55 lakh of these challans -- 57.4 per cent of the total -- remain pending.
