Changing to batteries won't cut an iota of pollution: TVS MD

TVS Motor Chairman and Managing Director Venu Srinivasan has said changing from conventional two-wheelers to battery-operated ones running on thermal power "will not reduce one iota of pollution". The two-wheeler accounts for 20% of automotive pollution, he added. His statements come as the NITI Aayog proposes transition to electric vehicles for three-wheelers by 2023 and two-wheelers by 2025.
