Chanting 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' is not hate speech: K'taka HC

While quashing the FIR against five residents of Ullal Taluk, the Karnataka High Court said that "chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' is not hate speech". The petitioners alleged that they were assaulted by a group for chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. The petitioners filed a complaint with the police but later an FIR was registered against them.
