Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat has announced that his government has suspended the Char Dham Yatra this year due to COVID-19. "Only priests of the four temples will perform rituals and puja," Rawat said. Earlier, Uttarakhand High Court had asked state government to publish SOPs for the Yatra, observing that the pilgrimage cannot be allowed to turn into another Kumbh.
