Some ChatGPT users have reported cases where the AI chatbot referred to them by their names even when not prompted to do so, as per a TechCrunch report. Users said the phenomenon happened despite them disabling memory and related personalisation settings. A developer called the feature "creepy and unnecessary", while another said he "hated it".
