ChatGPT creates 96% of user memories without being asked: Study

A study analysing 2,050 ChatGPT memories from 80 users found that 96% were created by the AI without users directly asking it to save them. About 28% contained personal information, while 52% included insights into users' thoughts and behaviour. Researchers proposed a tool called Attribution Shield that could warn users when ChatGPT saves sensitive information.
