ChatGPT maker OpenAI fires Sam Altman as CEO as board loses confidence

OpenAI, the AI startup behind ChatGPT, has fired Sam Altman as its CEO. Altman's departure "follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board", OpenAI's board said. It further said it "no longer had confidence" in Altman's ability to continue leading OpenAI, a company he co-founded.
