Chatting with people beats AI chatbots at reducing loneliness: Study

Chatting with people is better at reducing loneliness than talking to AI chatbots, a study has found. A total of 296 first-year university students were made to talk to random people and to a special chatbot named 'Sam'. Students who talked to random people reported lower loneliness and a lifted mood than those who talked with 'Sam'.
