Chennai deploys 15,000 staff, 600 pumps for NE monsoon

Greater Chennai Corporation has mobilised 15,000 personnel and 600 pump sets ahead of the Northeast monsoon, citing unpredictable weather due to Super El Niño. Commissioner GS Sameeran said most resources were pre-positioned by October 10. CM Vijay reviewed preparedness at the Integrated Command and Control Centre on Sunday.
