Chennai Metro maximum fare capped at ₹50; new fares effective from Feb 22

Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami on Saturday announced a reduction in maximum Chennai Metro fare by ₹20, bringing down the cost of full-length travel to ₹50 from ₹70. Commuters will have to pay ₹40 for travelling 12-21 km and beyond 21 km (upto 32 km), the fare will be ₹50. The new fares will come into effect from February 22.
