Chennai residents turn sewage-choked lake into lively public space

Residents who had been living beside a 50-acre sewage-choked lake in Chennai's Chitlapakkam undertook an initiative transforming it into a lively public space. More than 2,000 residents came together to restore the hundred-year-old lake after noticing black water in their borewell. Seeing their determination, the CM visited in person and sanctioned ₹25 crore for the lake's restoration.
