Chernobyl nuclear disaster site transformed into solar plant
Nearly 32 years after the Chernobyl tragedy, the nuclear disaster site in Ukraine has been transformed into a €1-million solar plant. Nearly 4,000 solar panels capable of generating power for around 2,000 homes are being installed at the site. Notably, Ukrainian authorities have said it would take more than 24,000 years before people can safely inhabit the area again.
