Cheslie hid her 'high-functioning' depression: Mother on ex-Miss USA's death

Miss USA 2019 winner Cheslie Kryst's mother, April Simpkins, has said that Cheslie was "dealing with high-functioning depression". "She hid [it] from everyone including me, her closest confidant until very shortly before her death," April said. In words directed towards Cheslie, April added, "You were my very best friend. Talking with you was one of best parts of my day."
