Chhattisgarh Cabinet clears draft bill against forced conversions

The Chhattisgarh Cabinet approved a bill outlawing forced and fraudulent religious conversions on Tuesday. The approval took place at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and will be introduced in the Legislative Assembly. Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Vijay Sharma in October 2025 had said that an anti-conversion bill would be introduced in the next Assembly session.
