Chhattisgarh district uses '5% model' to boost groundwater levels

Chhattisgarh's Korea district is using the '5% model' to boost groundwater levels by engaging the community. The initiative encourages villagers to dedicate 5% of their agricultural land to building soak pits, which help replenish rainwater in the ground. Villagers dug around 30,000 such soak pits on farms, in backyards, and in kitchen gardens between February and May this year.
