Chhattisgarh forms 5-member panel to prepare UCC draft

The Chhattisgarh government on Thursday formed a five-member panel to prepare a draft Uniform Civil Code for the state. The panel will be led by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai and will make recommendations on several issues including marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption. The panel will also seek feedback from citizens, social organisations, and legal experts.
