Chief of Defence Staff to make forces more effective: PM Modi

On the occasion of Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi on Thursday said that creating the post of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) will make the forces more effective. The CDS will be senior to the service chiefs and be a single point military advisor to the government. The CDS will be responsible for planning, procurements and logistics of the forces.
