Chikkamagaluru tightens New Year security, tourist footfall dips

Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru has imposed strict security measures ahead of New Year celebrations, including check posts, CCTV mandates, and a ban on DJs and rave parties. Over 1,000 police personnel have been deployed. However, tourist footfall has dipped this year, as the midweek New Year has dampened travel plans and reduced homestay bookings.
