Children of rich private employees cannot claim reservation benefits given to OBCs, rules HC
Kerala High Court ruled that children of affluent private-sector employees aren't eligible for OBC non-creamy layer (NCL) benefits. An NCL certificate is issued to OBC applicants whose family income is below ₹8 lakh/year. The case involved a petitioner whose father earned ₹1.12 crore a year and sought an NCL certificate for NEET and Kerala Engineering, Architecture & Medical exam.
