China agrees in principle to resume border trade with India via Shipki La after 5 yrs

China has agreed in principle to resume border trade with India via the Shipki La in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur, the state government announced on Sunday. Trade through the route was suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had earlier written to Centre to revive the historic Indo-Tibetan trade route, the state government said.
