China allows COVID antigen self-test kits for 1st time as daily cases hit 2-yr high

China for the first time has permitted the use of COVID-19 antigen self-test kits for the general public. It has granted approval to five COVID-19 antigen kits made by local companies for this. On Friday, China reported over 1,100 new COVID-19 cases, which is the highest daily count in around two years.
