China bans BBC World News; broadcaster says 'disappointed'

China on Friday barred British television channel BBC World News from airing in the country, saying its China-related reports had "seriously violated" regulations. This comes after Britain's media regulator revoked Chinese state television's licence to broadcast in the United Kingdom. "We are disappointed that Chinese authorities have decided to take this course of action," a BBC spokeswoman said.
