China bars Manus founders from leaving country as it probes $2-billion Meta deal: Report

China has barred two co-founders of AI startup Manus from leaving the country, The Financial Times reported. The move comes amid Beijing's probe into whether Meta's $2-billion acquisition of the startup violated investment rules. Manus CEO Xiao Hong and Chief Scientist Ji Yichao were summoned to a meeting with the National Development and Reform Commission earlier this month.
