China begins spacecraft construction for Tianwen-3

China's Tianwen-3 mission has started the spacecraft construction phase, a significant step toward Beijing's deep-space objectives. According to chief designer Liu Jizhong, the programme will begin flight-model development in 2026 following important technological achievements in Martian sampling, ascent from the Martian surface, orbital rendezvous, and planetary protection systems.
