China clears plan to up retirement age by minimum 3 yrs from 2025
China has approved a proposal to raise retirement ages starting in January 2025, to address economic challenges of shrinking workforce. Men will retire at 63, up from 60, while women in white-collar jobs will retire at 58, and blue-collar women at 55 up from 55 and 50 respectively. The reform comes as China's life expectancy rose significantly, reaching 78 years.
