China confirms outbreak of new Langya virus, 35 people found infected
A new type of animal-derived Henipavirus named Langya has been detected in China's Shandong and Henan provinces, the state media reported. So far the virus has infected 35 people causing symptoms like fever, fatigue, cough, appetite loss, nausea, vomiting etc. As per reports, the virus may also cause kidney and liver failure and is likely transmitted from animals to humans.
