China's Communist Party expelled 33 senior officials, including 16 military figures, at a closed-door Central Committee meeting in Beijing. The purge reduced the Central Military Commission to just two members, Xi Jinping and Zhang Shengmin. Total expulsions during Xi's third term now stand at 51, ahead of the 2027 party congress where Xi eyes a fourth term.
