China has no right to represent Taiwan: President Lai

Taiwan President William Lai Ching-te, in National Day address, asserted that "The People's Republic of China has no right to represent Taiwan." He emphasised his mission to protect Taiwan's sovereignty, stating, "The Republic of China and the People's Republic of China aren't subordinate to each other." Lai pledged to resist any attempts of annexation or encroachment on nation's self-governance.
