China injects $54bn into banks and insurers

China is directing $54 billion (about 362.41 billion Chinese yuan) into its financial sector to strengthen banks and insurers amid sluggish economic growth. China Life Insurance will receive 35 billion yuan, while three state-owned banks will collectively get 290 billion yuan. The push aims to boost stock market investment, maintain credit flow, and support smaller, high-risk insurance firms.
