China interested in buying more US oil: White House

The White House said Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed interest in buying more American oil during his meeting with US President Donald Trump. It stated that Beijing wants to buy US oil to reduce dependence on the Strait of Hormuz, which has been disrupted by the US-Iran war. China has not imported any US oil since May 2025, Reuters reported.
