China is freewheeling a bit, so we have to be careful: Trump on AI regulations

US President Donald Trump said his administration is considering additional safeguards for AI following a recent cybersecurity incident involving OpenAI models. He also noted China has "virtually no controls" governing AI and is "freewheeling" a bit. "So we have to be careful...We don't want to restrict [AI] when all of a sudden we come in second to China," Trump stated.
