China praises PM Modi over 'independent foreign policy' remark on bilateral ties

China has welcomed PM Narendra Modi's assertion that India follows an independent foreign policy. "PM Modi said that...developing relations with China isn't affected by any third party...China values PM Modi's statements," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said. PM Modi made the remarks during bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit.
