China reportedly asks firms to pause Nvidia H200 chip orders

China has reportedly asked major domestic tech firms to pause new orders for Nvidia H200 AI chips, despite strong demand. The guidance is seen as part of Beijing push to boost reliance on homegrown semiconductor technology. Chinese companies had already placed orders exceeding two million H200 units after US approval of exports last month.
