China's DeepSeek unveils V4 AI model to take on US rivals

Chinese startup DeepSeek on Friday unveiled its new V4 AI model. The open-source model comes in two versions, DeepSeek-V4-Pro and DeepSeek-V4-Flash, and is said to be on par with closed-source models from US tech giants such as OpenAI and Google DeepMind. The company had gained global attention for a low-cost reasoning model that matched the capabilities of US rivals.
