China's Kimi tops coding benchmark, ex-US AI chief calls it 'concerning'

White House's ex-AI adviser David Sacks said it is "concerning" that China's Kimi K3 topped the Frontend Code Arena and matched frontier AI models on other benchmarks. He warned that excessive US regulations, data centre restrictions and approval requirements could undermine America's AI leadership. "Rest of the world won't play by our rules if we bog ourselves down," he added.
