China's population to drop by 60 mn in 10 yrs, roughly by entire population of France: Report

China will lose nearly 60 million people in the next decade, roughly equivalent to the population of France, according to a report by research firm Rhodium Group. One of the main drivers of the trend is a collapse in births. China's population reportedly declined by 3.4 million people last year, compared with a 1.4 million drop in 2024.
